Mr. BALDE Ibrahima is appointed SMFG’s Director of Operations for Guinea and SMFG’s Administrator with immediate effect.

Mr. BALDE is a highly respected and experienced mining industry professional. He has more than 15 years’ experience in working in the Republic of Guinea, Australia and the United Kingdom.

Mr. BALDE has a strong skill set, particularly in company administration and management, human resources and government relations and approvals.  He currently represents SMFG on the Chamber of Mines of Guinea and is a valued senior member of the SMFG Executive Leadership Team .

Ms. Barnes, Acting Chief Executive Officer said:

Mr. BALDE will be responsible for coordinating all SMFG activities in Guinea to ensure the deliverables of Phase I of the Nimba project are met.
